We are excited to highlight Dan Dalchow, Superintendent of Climax-Shelly Schools, one of our member districts, who presented at the MREA Greater Education Summit! Dan joined Tim Lutz (Red Lake Schools) and Liz Windingstad (Willmar Public Schools) for the session "Beyond Borders: Attracting Educators Worldwide." This session explored how school districts are addressing teacher shortages by utilizing J1 and H1 visa programs to hire international teachers. Their insights demonstrated innovative strategies to fill critical teaching positions and strengthen education in Greater Minnesota. Thank you, Superintendent Dalchow, for representing our region and sharing creative solutions to enhance our schools! #WeAreASEC #StrongerTogether

We’re so proud of our Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) team, Joann, Krystal, and Pam, who presented an inspiring session at this year’s Collaborative Experience Conference this weekend! Their presentation focused on how virtual groups can bridge the gap of isolation that students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing often experience—especially in rural communities. In these virtual sessions, students build connections with one another and develop crucial compensatory skills that help them succeed in any environment. Joann, Krystal, and Pam highlighted how they work through a collaborative process to create engaging, skill-building sessions based on the Minnesota Compensatory Skills Checklist. Their approach not only strengthens students' skills but also fosters meaningful relationships that make a lasting impact. #StrongerTogether #WeAreASEC #BuildingConnections
