Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC)

The Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) advises and advocates on special education issues within the Area Special Education Cooperative and our eleven member school districts. Established under Minnesota Law, SEAC ensures that parents of children with disabilities actively participate in shaping district policies and decisions.

Mission:

The ASEC Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) serves as a bridge between families, educators, and the community. Our mission is to ensure that parents of children with disabilities have a voice in shaping special education policies and decisions within our eleven-member school districts. SEAC is committed to improving communication, advocating for quality programs, and fostering collaboration to enhance special education services.

Our Commitments:

  • Advocacy: Champion high-quality programs and services for students with disabilities.

  • Advisory Role: Provide input on special education policies, procedures, and practices.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for enhancement in special education services.

  • Communication: Foster effective dialogue and support among families, schools, and the community.

By collaborating with parents, educators, and community members, our SEAC strives to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, ensuring they receive the education and support they deserve.
